Overview

Personal profile

I am a microbiologist from Universidad de los Andes in Colombia, with a Master's degree in Biology from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana. I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Biology at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, where I lead the Biological Agriculture Research Group and the research group with the same name. My areas of expertise include bioprospecting and bioinputs, as well as tropical soil quality indicators. I work with symbiotic microorganisms and plant growth promoters from different ecosystems. My research interests include the study of their taxonomic and functional diversity. I have developed projects on the quality of the site and its relationship with the presence and role of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi, phosphorus solubilizing, nitrogen fixers, and producers of plant growth regulators microorganisms. These projects explore the effect of different types of bioinputs, fertilizers, and bioinoculants on mycorrhization, and growth of different plants and the production of secondary plant metabolites of medicinal interest. Our research led to the development of several products, including an organic substrate based on transformed lignocellulosic residues enriched with nutrients and microorganisms for use in nurseries. We have also developed microbial bioinoculants. I currently represent the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana at RIUCI and I am a founding member of Sibguadua.
