Resumen

We propose an augmented reality (AR) prototype to support maintenance and repair tasks by assisting the operator of the vertical centrifugal deep well pump with an interactive manual. This pump is used to collect water from the deep well and send it to the drinking water treatment plant in the city of Cali. This system provides instructions using arrows, text notes and alerts and 2D and 3D virtual images, incorporating virtual content to the real environment via the display device. The system helps the operator to make the sequences of maintenance in correct order, to improve time and quality to the execution tasks, reducing operator effort and maintenance costs.
