Desempeño de los controles pasivos de fricción en la reducción de la respuesta sísmica en edificios aporticados

Tesis: Tesis de máster

Resumen

This project study the structural design in reinforced concrete contructed buildings using passive friction control devices and thus, identify parameters and criteria that can demonstrate with greater clarity to the structural designers how is the performance of these devices: the advantages, disadvantages and more general provisions that characterize them. For this, a structural modeling is carried out to determine the response of displacement and acceleration of the structure-control system according to the geometric configuration of the frame, the seismic record acting and the location of the devices within the structure. In this way, the performance of the friction device is analyzed from the response obtained in the structure when it is being controlled and when the control mechanism is not used. Finally, it is determined which is the controlled structure that presents the best performance to compare the concrete sections and the reinforcement area required in the structural elements with respect to the design of that same structure without using the friction devices.
