Resumen
Calorimetry or the measure of heat changes has been used for more than two centuries to study processes that release substantial amounts of heat. However, recent advances in instrumentation have made it possible to detect much smaller heat changes generated upon interaction of relatively small quantities of biomolecules. Over the last 30 years, the emergence of the new discipline of microcalorimetry has had increasing impact on life science by contributing to a better understanding of the thermodynamic mechanisms of interaction between biomolecules.
