Resumen
Geodemographic information systems (GDIS) are built on the sociological assumption that location, particularly where we live, signals the social and cultural characteristics of a given population. Contemporary commercial locative media platforms introduce a different geodemographic framework. Whereas traditional geodemographics are built on the category of residency (postal codes), in these platforms households are not the basic unit of calculation but places or the so-called venues categorized at the ontological level of the database as points of interest (POI).
