Resumen
Introduction: Dementia is frequently associated with memory and orientation failures, but it can also present as psychosis since the disease's onset, and with a spectrum of symptoms, as well as different etiologies, being greater in frontotemporal dementia. In this article we aim to present the case of a patient whose first reported symptoms are in the spectrum of psychosis, as well as to discuss the mechanisms on which psychosis occurs in early dementias. Methodology: Case report. Discussion: It is pertinent to identify the etiology of psychotic symptoms, in addition to proposing the implementation of screening strategies for the identification of neurodegenerative diseases, seeking to mitigate the impact of these entities on patients, family members and on the burden of the disease with a timely treatment.
