Resumen
This article analyzes the history and present of alternative and citizen communication networks in Spain, based on the premise that these are fundamental vehicles for generating strategic alliances, sharing and generating content, and ensuring public policies that benefit the sector. Through the triangulation of quantitative (surveys) and qualitative techniques (interviews, meeting-seminar and documentary review), the results show a plural and geographically diverse panorama of alternative media networks. However, weaknesses are perceived, as the lack of legal status of many of these organizations, problems of permanence and continuity among activists, and a lack of dialogue between them.
