Resumen
Nowadays, through wireless networks, Mobile Devices (MD), such as cellular phones, PDA, etc., can be used as devices for accessing distant Web-based Information Systems (WIS). However, these MD are still characterized by intrinsic reduced capacities (e.g., size of screen, memory and data storage) which must be taken into account by WIS designers in order to render this access possible and practicable. WIS designers must have at their disposal mechanisms which allow providing nomadic users with information adapted according to the context of use of the current session (i.e., the location, the features of their MD, the access rights, user activities and preferences). These mechanisms must support a representation of the context of use. This paper is a contribution in this sense. We propose a representation of nomadic user preferences. We describe how this representation is exploited in order to adapt in the best way the information according to the context of use.
