Resumen
Pilot tests were carried out in a activated sludge plant, a high variability in the wastewater quality and non biodegradable soluble COD fractions (Fus =0.23). above the typical values (Fus =0.1). were found. Periodic testing of oxygen transfer efficiency in the aerobic reactor (process water) showed the negative influence of diffusers fouling in the aeration system performance (KLa in th range from 0.52 to 0.35). Using BioWin a model was calibrated and validate. The outcome of several simulations with selectors (anoxic and anaerobic) was evaluated regarding their influence on nutrient removal, oxygen demand and sludge production.
