N2 - Digital transformation is crucial for Micro, Small, and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs) as it enhances operational efficiency and market competitiveness. However, evaluating the motivation to initiate this process remains a significant challenge. This study presents the Motivation Diagnosis component of MotivAcción Digital, an instrument designed to help MSMEs evaluate their motivation for initiating a digital transformation process. The Motivation Diagnosis component evaluates six dimensions: data analytics, technology adoption, process automation, corporate vision, omnichannel presence, and digitalization, using a five-point Likert scale to measure perceived urgency and importance. By focusing on these perceptions, the instrument ensures consideration of both long-term strategic goals and immediate business pressures. The instrument was initially evaluated with four MSMEs in Colombia, analyzing its perceived usefulness, clarity, and completeness. Results indicate that the Motivation Diagnosis component is useful, clear, and comprehensive, but future evaluations are necessary to further validate and refine it.
