Resumen

The transition to electric mobility is recognized as a critical strategy for reducing greenhouse gas emissions in the transportation sector. However, EV adoption poses challenges related to increased electricity demand and grid stability. Vehicle-to-home (V2H) systems, which enable bidirectional energy exchange between EVs and household energy networks, have emerged as a promising solution to optimize energy consumption and enhance the integration of renewable energy sources. In this way, this paper presents a characterization and classification of EV usage behavior tailored to the Colombian context. This characterization defines parameters for daily driving patterns and charger availability to maximize the use of EV battery capacity in a V2H scheme. Building upon this analysis, a mixed-integer linear optimization model is developed to maximize the economic benefits for EV owners when utilizing V2H to meet the household energy demand. The model is evaluated in two scenarios: one with systematic users and another with unsystematic users, both incorporating renewable energy resources.
