Resumen
This chapter addresses why the rights of peasants' matter to justice-promotion work that seeks to lay the groundwork for future peace and stability. The chapter's central contention is that encompassing peace education requires rethinking peasant life. This implies a new concept of peace education, one which recognizes the socio-environmental aspects of land, social justice, and depeasantization. In view of the above, this chapter begins by exploring the theoretical discourse on depeasantization and repeasantization, and then discusses the efforts of repeasantization in post-conflict societies. The last part of the chapter is dedicated to highlighting how repeasantization should be a core topic in peace education in post-conflict societies. In sum, the chapter aims to analyze the different elements involved in the configuration of peace education for peasants and in the development of a culture of peace.
