Resumen

Implantable cardiac devices are a diagnostic and therapeutic tool for many patients throughout the world, including those with Chagas disease. The Chagas disease is one of the most important vector-borne parasitic diseases in the world, the cases are found mainly in Latin America, however, because of population migration, its distribution has been altered, becoming an emerging health problem in other regions. It is considered that approximately 30% of patients with Chagas disease have cardiac involvement that can manifest as heart failure, arrhythmias, thromboembolism, and sudden death. The purpose of this manuscript is to make an updated review on the indications for cardiac implantable devices in Chagas disease.
