Differentiations and overlaps in knowledge management and organisational learning: Systematic review

Knowledge management and organisational learning are two related fields with different historical origins, the first in the sixties and the second in the nineties of the past century. The purpose of this study is to conduct a systematic review to analyse how the literature about organisational learning and knowledge management have evolved and identify overlaps between these two fields. The review is based on 12010 articles in the databases Scopus and ISI Web of Science. For the analysis, we used the software VantagePoint. Based on bibliometric analysis we found that what it has been characteristic of organisational learning, this is the creation and acquisition of knowledge, tends to be absorbed by the knowledge management literature. This study contributes to clarifying the actual scope of knowledge management and organisational learning, according to research publications.
