Resumen

It's important to have new tools in the ophthalmological field that allow offering a better service to improve the heath in the community. The anofthalmia, is an ocular ball pathology in which is possible that it may not be formed completely, or it exist an absence of it. It brings as result a no vision in the patient and a facial asymmetry during growing process with morphological and physiological consequences. For the treatment it is necessary a surgical intervention that provides motion in the patient's prosthetic eyeball. Postoperative results are evaluated by the specialists but subjectively, because the current techniques just present qualitative evaluations. In this presentation is discussed the necessity of design diagnostic tools with a noninvasive characteristic which offers a measurable value of the improved movement in patient's eyeball. For the process it was analyzed a database with information from unilateral anophthalmia patients with ages between 7 and 15 years old who underwent surgery at Clínica de Oftalmología of Cali.
