Resumen
Anomalies in the decussation of the corticospinal tract are usually related to malformations of embryonic neuronal development. Different molecules are involved in the regulation of axon–axon interaction and ordering and they are necessary for proper decussation. The presence of aberrant pathway arrangement is rare in patients without associated pathologies or syndromes, but it is presumed that these abnormalities are congenital and patients may present with other clinically non-manifest brain abnormalities. Few cases of ipsolateral hemiparesis secondary to supratentorial stroke have been reported in the scientific literature. This article presents the case of a patient who presented with acute ischemic stroke in whom the absence of decussation of the corticospinal tract was documented.
