N2 - This article proposes a methodological framework to evaluate rigor, transparency, and ethical considerations in studies applying Social Network Analysis (SNA) to digital political communication in Latin America between 2009 and 2022. Based on a systematic review of 72 articles —identified via Google Scholar and refined through syntaxes generated with ChatGPT— we identify significant progress in SNA applications, especially in studies on mobilization, elections, and identity conflicts. However, gaps remain in replicability, open data publication, and ethical reflection regarding the use of sensitive information. The study offers recommendations to enhance methodological and ethical standards in this emerging field.
