Resumen
The novelty of the philosophical practices associated with the founding of the Institute of Philosophy of the National University and the journal Ideas y valores, an intellectual project known a posteriori as the “normalization” of philosophy, does not depend on an unusual insertion of philosophical activity in the national culture. Rather, what was new in the philosophical works of the first “filósofos normalizadores” was to conceive university philosophical activity, on the one hand, as a cultural product and, on the other, as a professional practice in need of technical development in accordance with international standards. This article shows that in the process of assimilating this novelty, philosophical activity distanced itself from its cultural dimension. For the following generations of “filósofos normalizadores colombianos”, philosophy would be reduced to a professional type of knowledge strictly technified according to foreign standards of operation and at the margin of other local philosophical practices; practices that by then already had a history of little more than three centuries and that in the name of an idealized philosophy practically disappeared from the current university curricula.
