Resumen
Recently, academic work and debate in the field of economic anthropology are resurging, as shown by Antípoda's latest call for articles. To put this new academic production into context, this article offeres an interpretative aproximation based on four on different contexts. The first one is economic crises -in particular the so-called "2008 crisis"-, which have served as setting for the sub-discipline's reactivation. The second is related to the historical development of the main themes and problems of economic anthropology. The third one reviews some of economic anthropology's singular theories and methodologies. Here, I propose to think of value and moral as pivotal notions from which to begin a study of economic anthropology. Finally, I identify the contemporary interest in economic anthropology including some of its current and potential developments in Colombia.
