Resumen

The article addresses the transition from traditional banking to a Responsible Banking model, emphasizing how this new approach aims to maximize not only economic benefits but also social and environmental ones. It explores the origin and evolution of the concept, as well as the principles of Responsible Banking promoted by organizations like UNEP FI. Additionally, the text develops a theoretical model that incorporates the utilities of consumers, workers, and the environment, and examines the role of the State in regulating and promoting this approach. Finally, it suggests a methodology to measure the impact of Responsible Banking through a specific index.
