N2 - This article shows an analysis of a set of commercial products that help the mobility of disabled people using the laws of evolution based on technical systems suggested by TRIZ. The purpose of this analysis is to find innovation opportunities in technical aspects of these types of products. The products are classified by the ISO9999 - Class 12 Standard. This analysis corresponds to the second research phase of a project of product design with multidisciplinary teams. In the first stage, a multidisciplinary team made up of engineers, an occupational therapist, a psychologist and a final user, used multi-criteria analysis techniques (AHP) to select a class of mobility aid product for disabled people in order to improve their social inclusion. Arlex Leyton Universidad del Valle Cali, Valle, Colombia [email protected] within the technical processes of evolution. Just as living beings, products have evolution patterns within their technical environment. In this way, one of the design process stages must consist of the technical description of the evolution of products using the state evolution laws of technical systems, just as it is suggested by the inventive problem solution theory, TRIZ. There are eight laws of technical systems evolution classified in static, kinematic and dynamic laws. This type of analysis complements the studies that are done with techniques from the marketing and quality areas which involve the user such as Benchmarking, QFD and techniques to evaluate usability. It is said that many of the new products or processes, particularly in developing countries, are imitations or do not correspond to industrial innovations. It is suggested that to enter the competitive product market, these products should be designed in such a way that they are It is concluded that a previous analysis of different commercial products, regarding their technological evolution state, allows pointing out with clarity technical innovation opportunities which favor the next process of conceptual design of new products. This work is pioneer in the application of evolution laws in this class of products.
