Synthesis and evaluation of small circular peptides as models for inhibitors of PDGF.

PDGF may play a crucial role in: wound repair, development, Atherosclerosis, Neoplasia, and bone marrow fibrosis. However, the mechanistic details of PDGF action and its role in diseases is not fully understood in part due to the lack of a good specific inhibitor. I proposed herein, to synthesized and test four cyclic peptides that may inhibit the biological action of PDGF. This study will provide a tool to further investigate the action of PDGF in biological systems.
