Descripción

Within the sustainable diets framework, consumer¿s choices and eating patterns are a matter of growing concern. Despite the emergence of new trends of consumption based on the intention of consumers to minimize their negative social and environmental impacts, consumers are still unaware of the impact of individual dietary decisions in their health and the global context. Sustainable food consumption is a key element in the transformation of current systems and markets that are unsustainable. So far, this phenomenon has been explored mainly in developed countries, and the existing literature in Latin American contexts, and more specifically in Colombia, is scarce. Therefore, this project seeks to address the knowledge gap on this subject through a qualitative approach, exploring the motives and current knowledge on sustainable food consumption in a university in Colombia, focusing particularly on meat consumption. It is expected that the results of this study will serve as a basis for the generation of communication strategies and policies that effectively promote sustainable food consumption.
