Descripción

The main purpose of the MGG is to standardize the processes and reporting in guideline development and to reduce heterogeneity in evidence-based recommendations among Colombian guideline developer groups (GDGs). The adherence to the proposed methodology, made possible that GPC produced for the health system between 2011 and 2013 reached appropriate qualifications when assessed with AGREE II instrument (2). However, a thorough review of its contents showed that there is a huge variability among guidelines in the report of methodological steps, in the format and presentation of the final products, but particularly, in the way in which information is presented to users (health care professionals), regarding the Quality of evidence (QoE) and the strength of recommendations (SoR), even when all GDGs based the process in the same system recommended by the MG (1).
