This research Project based, on a qualitative methodology, aims to describe the process of acquisition of the intercultural communicative competence in the English as a Foreign Language Education process through a cultural exchange that happens in the telecollaborative practices of Virtual Dual Immersion(VDI) carried out by teachers of the Language Department at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana Cali. In the first stage of this project the dynamics of teaching and learning English as L2 will be described in the course where Telecollaborative practices are integrated. Then, the VDI practices that enable conditions to learn English as L2 through cultural exchange will be described. Finally an analysis will be carried out to evaluate the effectiveness of the English classes which integrate this model to achieve the intercultural communicative competence in terms of attitudes, knowledge and skills. This research will be carried out with students and teachers of five level four undergraduate English as L2 groups . It is important to say that Marquette University will be involved on this research as a Spanish class telecollaboration partner, both universities belong to the aUSJaL/aJCU online learning consortium.
