Descripción

application of anatomical techniques without of formaldehyde and phenol in the preparation and preservation of pig hearts as support material for teaching anatomy at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana Cali. Formaldehyde and phenol are toxic substance to human health and the environment. The use of both substances is common in the preservation of anatomical parts. This study proposes don´t use phenol and formaldehyde and uses other chemicals that are not harmful and are effective in preserving anatomical parts. Investigators propose use Chilean chemical solution in preservation of common pigs’ heart for anatomical study at Javeriana and Cauca’s Universities. Pig is an important experimentation animal because its anatomy is as similar human anatomy. More and more Doctors and Scientifics use the pig in surgery, biomedical and biological experimentation.
