Despite extensive laboratory studies establishing that temperature influences all stages of the mosquito life cycle, translating these lab-derivative thermal relationships to field conditions remains a conundrum. The primary challenge lies in the variability of dengue dynamics, spatially and temporally, exacerbated by intricate interactions of immunity with seasonal shifts in transmission intensity.Colombia is one of the largest hotspot countries for Dengue transmission in the world. Despite this, the relationship between dengue and climate remains poorly understood in Colombia, which also limits the understanding of the potential implications of future climate sensitivities in Dengue transmission for the country.This project emerges as an opportunity to join efforts between Universidad Javeriana and Imperial College London to develop and apply mathematical models to improve our understanding of the mechanisms underlying the relationship between climate and dengue transmission and propose potential interventions for the future.
