Ludis Morales, Ph.D. has a Master's degree in Biochemistry and a Ph.D in Biological Sciences. She works as a research professor in the area of Biochemistry and for more than 20 years she has taught Human Biochemistry courses in Health careers such as Medicine, Nursing, Dentistry, Nutrition, Bacteriology and in other careers such as Biology and Microbiology. She also participates at the graduate level, both at the Master's and Doctoral level, with courses in Advanced Biochemistry, Cell Signaling and Intermediate Metabolism.

Her research has focused on the evaluation of molecules with therapeutic potential, whether synthetic or from natural sources, on the mechanisms of regulation of human metabolic pathways, particularly on disorders associated with chronic non-transmisible diseases, such as obesity, diabetes and their cardiovascular complications. She has supervised undergraduate, master's  and doctoral theses, and the results of his research have been published in high impact indexed journals. Additionally, she has held administrative positions, the last one as director of the Department of Nutrition and Biochemistry of the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana for 8 years.
