Conflict is a constitutive part of human life and shows the free option people have to handle it by violent or nonviolent means. In some Bible narratives, violence corresponds to their human elaboration and does not contradict the biblical message of peace and love.

The communitarian practices of People’s Reading of the Bible (PRB), Contextual Bible Reading (CBR), and Intercultural Bible Reading (IBR) help communities to manage conflicts nonviolently. These critical and communitarian ways of reading the Bible promote conflict handling by nonviolent procedures.
