Abstract

This paper presents the design, implementation, and testing of the WellProdSim world model, a comprehensive social simulator tailored for analyzing peasant families’ productivity and social well-being. It encompasses a land control module that facilitates crop growth simulation and accounts for social phenomena such as communication and cooperation within the social and productive context. Additionally, the simulator integrates geographical characteristics and climatic conditions of the region to ensure accurate representation of the environment. Plans are underway to incorporate a BDI (Belief-Desire-Intention) emotional agent module into the world model, which will represent peasants and other social actors, enhancing the simulator’s realism in portraying human decision-making processes. The world model has demonstrated success in 27 initial scenarios, utilizing real data from the Montes de Maria region in Colombia, thereby validating its effectiveness in capturing real-world conditions. By focusing on crucial elements such as land control, regional characteristics, and climatic conditions, the WellProdSim world model offers a valuable tool for understanding and addressing the unique challenges faced by peasant families.
