Abstract
Together with the world population’s aging, several non- transmissible chronic diseases have increased. Among them it is worth highlighting the incidence of hip fracture, given that this is one of the main morbimortality causes. This is the reason why it is important to carry out a pre-operational assessment based on an integral approach. This integral approach consists in an inter-disciplinary management called orthogeriatric surgical co-management. It is based on 5 principles which have had an impact proving a decrease in costs, in times of hospitalizations and complications. The purpose of this review is to describe the approach of the patient with hip fracture.
