Abstract
This article proposes a critical reading of the nature of time based on textual
proposals of Humberto Ak’abal, Maya K’iche’ poet, and Hugo Jamioy, Camëntsá
writer. It is proposed that part of the contemporary environmental crisis is due to
the separation of time and space, and of nature and culture, which is questioned
from reflections and poetic images present in current indigenous oralituras and
writings. Ak’abal and Jamioy question temporal impositions while articulating,
through language, their own rhythms and enunciations in connection with their
territories, memories and links, cultural reinventions.
