Abstract
In this chapter, we analyze from an anthropological perspective how Colombia's Comisión para el Esclarecimiento de la Verdad, la Convivencia y la No Repetición (CEV) (2018-2022) has shaped emerging forms of truth production and alternative models of accountability linked to forensic evidence production. This effort has involved a partial shift from relying solely on the testimonies of survivors or even perpetrators of human rights violations as the only means to access the truth of events. Instead, it has used other techniques and devices to clarify instances of mass violence and
communicate what happened in innovative ways. It has also enabled the documentation of structural forms of violence and capital accumulation in contexts of severe human rights violations. In order to produce this analysis, we have reviewed secondary sources and conducted interviews
with researchers and curators of the exhibition “Huellas de la Desaparición: los casos de Urabá, Palacio de Justicia y territorio Nukak” (2021-2022), who have developed new methodologies and techniques for analyzing and presenting information, in order to understand their experiences and perspectives. We also participated in observation and visits to the exhibition, which took place at the Banco de la República in 2022.
