Abstract
Theology should account for Christianity in terms of a vital religion; it should highlight the urgent need to overcome all sorts of violence and encourage Christian practice at the service of life and nonviolence. The article discusses the role of Theology as the argumentation to be used in situations of vio lence and death, so common today in many places. It pro poses the idea of Theology being relevant to and aware of such current contexts; in order to be so, Theology should become a discourse of faith inspired by a lifegiving, lifepreserving God who is alive, who has revealed himself through Jesus.
