Abstract

Existence is mediated by images loaded with diverse intentionalities, which act intimately in the processes of subjectivation shaping the way of acting, thinking and feeling. These intentionalities dominated by the hegemonic structure in our society operate in function of creating homogeneous, serialized and subordinated subjectivities to guarantee its aim of accumulating power. In opposition to this dominant intentionality are the resistances that manifest themselves through art, crystallizing emancipatory images that motivate us to refl ect on a new way of living. The text puts in dialogue Pallasmaa’s (2014) corporeal imagination and Guattari and Rolnick’s (2015) processes of subjectivation, starting from dominant subjectivities read as discrimination and emancipatory subjectivities as appropriation. It is suggested that art allows the subversion of the image of the housing complex “Plaza de la Hoja” and its spatial appropriation, challenging the dominant subjectivity.
