Abstract
With the arrival of the coronavirus in Colombia, the efforts of the population to overcome the situation in a country with a fractured social fabric are put to the test. In this social context, the concepts and practices associated with solidarity that emerged in Bogotá during the COVID-19 pandemic were investigated. For this purpose, semi-structured interviews were conducted with 20 participants. From the interviews, several categories of analysis emerged through the grounded theory. Then, content analysis was carried out in the software Atlas.ti. The most important finding was that all participants provided assistance according to their possibilities and were motivated by empathy, perception of need, vulnerability, and familiar bonds. Thus, solidarity shows that even in such complex moments, mobilization to help others can be a vote of hope to work for social cohesion and peace.
