Abstract

This paper proposes a particular DC/DC multilevel converter topology called ladder topology for high voltage applications. This topology elevates the input supply voltage using few control signals. Some simple comparisons with the classical flying capacitor converter are carried out. Moreover, power losses are also analyzed. The good performance of the topology is tested through a small scale prototype. The article finishes with some experimental results.
