Abstract

Burnout syndrome is the result of exposure to prolonged stress. This syndrome has been widely studied in health professionals, although it can affect workers in different sectors. This is a study on the applicability, in the world and in Colombia, of instruments to measure burnout syndrome based on nine criteria: characteristics, validity, reliability, professions, cost, languages, duration, advantages, and disadvantages. To this end, a search was made in the Scopus and Web of Science databases for articles that evaluated the reliability and validity of the most used instruments. This document is intended for anyone who wants to evaluate burnout syndrome since it provides guidelines of the most commonly used instruments so that you can identify which instrument could be applied in your organization or research according to your needs since they have similar validity and reliability
