Abstract
This article presents a relational dialogue between mysticism, gender and sexual
diversity, and politics. Throughout history, both mystics and non-cisheterosexual individuals have been suspicious, strangers, and subjects of
discrimination in institutional religions due to their presence in the cultural and
religious arenas. In my analysis, I first consider the influence of mysticism in
politics and its coincidences with queer theory. After that, I examine the
emergence of queer theologies and the eschatological consideration of God
becoming queer as a possibility of liberation for minorities. Finally, the
investigation concludes by offering thoughts on the emergence of queer
resistance.
