Abstract
This paper has been published to show a technique for evaluation of the neuronal activity. The
technique presented here showed extracellular recordings of hippocampal neurons of CA1.
These recordings may result useful in many electrophysiological studies of neuronal plasticity
in the nervous system such as Paired-Pulse Facilitation (PPF) and Long-Term Potentiation
(LTP). Especially, LTP is considered electrophysiological evidence of learning and may be
relevant for the understanding of the mechanisms of memory. This paper describes a simple
technique to record of the PPF and LTP with local resources available in our country but good
standard of quality and presents recordings of these phenomena. Finally, this paper enlisted
internet sites for download programs and papers for implementation of this technique.
Themes: Electrophysiology of the nervous system. Topics: Synaptic plasticity in the
hippocampus.
