Abstract
This study offers a general overview of academic production in Psychology, from the analysis of a sample of articles published between 2005 and 2007 in the Psychology Journals covered by Psicoredalyc. The analysis showed that 3 out of 4 articles are written in collaboration. Most articles show high levels of institutional endogamy and low levels of international collaboration. The production rate of most authors (80.9%) is one article every 3 years. A small percentage of authors are responsible for a high percentage of the contributions. Finally, the study shows that authors tend to publish, or being published, mostly in their own countries, which may indicate low levels of article internationalization, or high levels of national endogamy in the journals. The results suggest that research networks should be strengthened and the publication in journals from other countries should be fostered.
