Abstract

The ideal manufacturing method for the preparation of compressed tablets is the direct compression, for this purpo-se the active principles require good flow properties and high compressibility; however, most of them do not possessthese properties. Based on this, it was obtained a co-processed excipient for direct compression of corn starch, PH200 microcrystalline cellulose and polyvinylpyrrolidone K-29 using the computer simulation. In order to obtaining the co-processed excipient it was necessary to evaluate the flow properties, particle size and thecompressibility of raw materials. According to these results the wet granulation was established. Then it was develo-ped a simulation model in an Arena®simulator.According the solid-liquid mix, there were developed three scenarios in the Arena®simulator. With a time of 15 minu-tes and a speed of 390 rpm, it was possible to increase the percentage of the properties of the co-processed diluentgranules, which were within the limits previously established; thus it was experimentally produced in triplicate to ve -rify simulation results. Finally, it was concluded that it was achieved the co-processed excipient granules for directcompression.
