Abstract
This article develops the notion of temporality in the novel «Lagrande», by the Argentinian author Juan José Saer. At first, we consider someof the texts of the author where time is explicit at a thematic or anecdotic level.Afterwards, we briefly expose the notion of narrativity and the way in which ithas been associated with temporality, especially from the perspective of 20thcentury literary theory. This allows us to show how this contemporary notion ofnarrativity appears in Saer’s work and then to describe the particular effect oftemporality produced by «La grande» through two main elements: the hybridi-zation of lyrical and narrative aspects, on the one hand, and the temporal shiftswithin the text, on the other
