Abstract

The Django Reinhardt stormwater retention-settling tank in Chassieu (Rhône) provided the basis for an experimental monitoring campaign aiming to better understand and model settling processes in full-scale large facilities. In order to calibrate the 2D hydrodynamic model Rubar 20 and to verify the results of simulations, six significant storm events observed between June and December 2006 have been used. The reliable experimental data series allowed comparing calculated and measured water depths and showed the ability of the model to reproduce the hydrodynamic behaviour of the facility.
