Abstract
In October 2012, after years of negotiations between the Philippine government and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF), the parties have reached an agreement to put an end to one of the most complex conflictive expressions in Philippines and Southeast Asia. For Moro fronts, has been a struggle to recover historical sovereignty over their an-cestral territory, while for the Philippine government, has been a matter of defending the territorial integrity against threats of secession. Despite the difficulties and obstacles to achieve the end of the confrontation, today these claims, essentially contradictory, seem to have found a path to reconciliation.
