Abstract
The purpose of this study is to identify and analyze quantitative empirical works that study the effects of corporatization and partial privatization processes on the financial performance of state-owned enterprises (soe). The theoretical perspectives, the methodologies and the variables used for performance measurement are analyzed, and the findings related to the processes of corporatization and partial privatization are synthesized. Likewise, a systematic review of the literature is carried out based on 31 investigations, selected from a total of 101 articles identified from the Scopus and Web of Science (WoS) databases. As a result of the analysis, it is identified that research on corporatization processes presents greater theoretical diversity than research on partial privatization processes. The analysis of the findings shows that there is consensus on the benefits of corporatization processes, but there is no agreement on the causes that explain said benefits in the performance of the SOEs. On the contrary, there is no consensus on the effects of partial privatization on the performance of companies.
