Abstract
This is a critical analysis of the role of media in Colombia in the theater of war, from describing the characte-ristics of the structure of media ownership, the languages used in the information and journalistic practices in covering events. The hypothesis is that these characteristics determine the creation of information on the armed conflict, which can confuse the audience, since news about armed guerrilla actions are prioritized, without offe-ring extensive information on the structural causes and affects, so the war has continued over seven decades. This result contributes little well to peace talks that the government and the FARC have been holding since 2012, in Havana, Cuba.
