Abstract
This work sought to understand the global articulation processes that Colombian peasant movements carry out as they work to ar-ticulate their struggles once framed within the worldwide move-ment La Via Campesina (LVC). The relations between local and global trends will be seen from an integral logic of collective ac-tion, which addresses the peasant movement’s identities and its strategies and forms of organization.Theoretical tools from both social movements and collective action frameworks are used. In this balance, a critical reading of the international scenario (neoliberal and modern/colonial) is necessary, to which the new peasant mobilization processes respond. By analyzing Colom-bia’s largest peasant movements, part of LVC, we conclude that political platforms, mobilization, organization, and political-technical training are samples of the new joint peasant action in Colombia, Latin America, the world in resistance to a neoliberal global system.
