Abstract
The strategic vision of educational institutions is a practice that aligns the entire community with its values and objectives, specifying goals for development, improvement, and school transformation. It plays a significant role in school leadership and management, as it enables future planning, guides collective efforts, and supports the institution’s holistic development. This article analyzes the practice through three focus groups composed of administrative teams from three public schools in Bogotá. A qualitative, descriptive, multiple case study was conducted. Content analysis revealed that strategic vision is linked to the strengthening of activities such as: (1) guiding actions, (2) school improvement and positive change, (3) participation mechanisms, (4) alignment with the Institutional Educational Project (IEP), and (5) vision coherence. The study concludes that strategic decision-making, institutional knowledge, leadership, and vision coherence are essential for leaders to foster collaborative environments and teams with strong values and effective capabilities.
