Abstract

Theology, however it is seen, is sapiential insofar as it reflects on the Christian faith. Such reflection, however, never takes place separately from human reality, but always involves the very life of people. The Fathers of the Church give an account of this and, particularly, the so-called apostolic Fathers, whose reflection on the Christian faith sought to have a direct impact on the lives of the men and women of their time. The argumentative exercise describes the particularities of theology as wisdom present in some works of the Apostolic Fathers, for which a fourfold character is proposed: contextual, spiritual, sapiential and pastoral. Together with the description of the understanding of each character mentioned, a direct connection of the way in which it is present in the selected works is offered.
